Second time lucky! .. hope

The American President Barack Obama is banking on private investment to support his space policy. At the end of April, he announced his intention to make six billion dollars available over five years to further the development of viable launchers to ship supplies and astronauts to and from the International Space Station.

"Falcon 9", a rocket developed by SpaceX, a private company, successfully blasted off on its maiden test flight from Cap Canaveral, in Florida. A first attempt failed... The second take off was accomplished.

SpaceX has signed a contract with NASA which provides for a further fourteen launches, including two tests.
